An index of Medical Personnel of various descriptions, mentioned in the book Touching on Death.
This index includes those whose brief biographies were written by Gluckman and also those who are mentioned in the various inquests. Many doctors would have multiple entries as they performed many autopsies or gave evidence at many inquests; hence the page number alongside their name is usually the first (and often the only) mention of the name. The individual may appear later, or occasionally earlier in an inquest report but the page number given is the one with the best information. The spellings are as recorded in Touching on Death.
Of interest is the large number of medical personnel present in early Auckland and the variety of countries from which they came. An index to these will be found below
