Description - Private John Crummy, described as a labourer, born Arvagh, Killeshandra, in "Discharged in New Zealand" by Hugh and Lyn Hughes, he enlisted in the 58th Regiment 7th April 1828 and was discharged at Auckland 10th July 1850. He sailed from Woolwich on the Agincourt which arrived at Sydney 25th November 1844 and sailed to New Zealand on the North Star Velocity which reached 24th March 1845. There was another 58th man called William Crummy who married a daughter of Fencible Francis Queenin circa 1850 but he came from a place called Carrigallen.

JOHN CRUMMY died 20th November 1882 according to Mr John E. Binsley, in the district of Sanson. but his name is not included in the NZSG Transcript of Burials at Sanson. RG 1882/1569
