Married with 3 children and died 15th July 1865 according to the Treasury Pension Register. "Discharged in New Zealand" by Hugh and Lyn Hughes lists a James Kennedy, Private, No. 603, born Emley, tailor by trade, enlisted 28th January 1828, discharged Auckland 10th July 1850.

ELIZABETH KENNEDY, daughter of James and Margaret Kennedy, aged 13, was buried from St Patrick's Cathedral, Auckland 6th January 1857.
MARGARET KENNEDY was buried from St Patrick's Cathedral, Auckland 10th October 1859, no age or other details entered.
MICHAEL KENNNEDY, aged 30, buried from St Patrick's Cathedral, Auckland 3rd March 1863. These entries may not be relevant to the Fencible but are offered in case they may provide a few clues.
